Make certain to install the blade securely so that it is good and tight. As you cut, the blade will warm up with friction heat. This may cause it to bend if it is not installed tightly.
If you want to stain your wood piece, make sure to use a finer grit sandpaper if you want a lighter color. That is because the big scratches left by coarse paper allows more of the pigments to saturate the wood surface.
